Putting the Subsidy Straight in Your Hands – Through the Nutrition North Canada program, the cost of air freight is subsidized at three levels – high, medium, and low—based on nutritional value and community needs. Essentials like milk, bread, and fresh produce fall into the higher subsidy tiers. Zamiigo passes these freight savings directly to you, so families can buy more with less.

Webequie Convenience is a locally owned, family-run store that has proudly served the Webequie community for over 30 years. Originally owned and operated by Elijah Jacob, and now passed onto his Daughter Phyllisia Jacob and her family, the store plays an important role in providing everyday essentials and groceries to community members.
Phyllisia is a founding partner of Zamiigo, and Webequie Convenience is directly involved in how groceries are sourced, ordered, and delivered throughout the community. Zamiigo was created to support local First Nation businesses like hers by providing the online ordering, logistics, and transportation needed to bring groceries to Webequie at more affordable prices.
Every order placed through Zamiigo for Webequie is connected to Webequie Convenience. Phyllisia and her team play an active role in guiding product selection, supporting the online ordering experience, and helping coordinate deliveries. As the local point of contact, she works directly with community members to answer questions, share updates, and ensure the service reflects the needs and preferences of Webequie.
This partnership means groceries are not coming from an outside company alone. They are delivered in collaboration with a trusted local business, keeping decision-making rooted in the community while improving access, choice, and affordability.
